Forget Perfect Moments. Snatch Imperfect Ones and Make Them Legendary.

October: The Myth of “Perfect Timing”

If we’re honest, how many times have we said: “I’ll start when…”
When the timing is right.
When the plan is flawless.
When the fear finally fades.

But here’s the truth: waiting for perfect is just another way to delay the life you’re called to live.

I’ve been there! Clutching to perfection, hoping the stars would align before I took the leap. And you know what? The stars never did. Because life doesn’t hand us perfect, it hands us opportunities wrapped in uncertainty.

And if we keep waiting for certainty, we miss the chance to create something legendary.

Imperfect Action Creates Impact

In August, I was honored with the Visionary Award for knowing my history and daring to imagine the future. That recognition was powerful, but what struck me most was that the moments that shaped me weren’t perfect.

They were messy. Risky. Full of doubt.

But they were also decisive. And that’s where impact is born; not in flawless execution, but in bold moves made anyway.

So let me say this plainly: you don’t need perfection to lead, disrupt, or design a future that matters. You need movement.

The Cost of Chasing Perfect

When we obsess over “getting it right,” here’s what happens:

  • Opportunities pass us by because we’re still “preparing.”
  • Our voices stay quiet while less qualified ones dominate the room.
  • We burn out trying to perfect the plan instead of living it.

Perfection doesn’t protect us. It paralyzes us. And when we’re frozen, the future gets written by someone else.

What It Looks Like to Snatch the Moment

Here’s what seizing imperfect moments actually looks like in practice:

  1. Say yes before you feel ready. Readiness is a byproduct of action, not a prerequisite.
  2. Reframe failure. Every misstep is data, not defeat.
  3. Lead with presence. Stop rehearsing the future and show up fully in the now.
  4. Amplify your impact. Small, imperfect steps compound into movements that shift cultures and open doors.
  5. Choose courage over polish. No one remembers “perfect.” They remember bold.

This isn’t theory. It’s the playbook for women who refuse to wait for permission.

So…

Maybe you’ve been holding back, waiting until the timing feels safer, cleaner, or more certain.

I see you.

I’ve wrestled with that too.

But let’s decide together: October won’t be about waiting. It will be about moving—imperfectly, intentionally, and unapologetically.

Because history doesn’t belong to those who wait for perfection, it belongs to the ones who act in the mess and make it matter.

Here’s the What. Let’s Talk About the How.

You already know the what: perfection is a trap, and bold, imperfect moves change the game.
I’ll walk with you through the how: frameworks, reflection, and strategies to help you embody this in your leadership and your life.
